Baltimore Brothers Launch New Musical Journey with Two Years Younger

Music has always been a part of Sean Guthier’s life. As the lead vocalist and guitarist for Two Years Younger, Sean is beginning an exciting chapter alongside his older brother, Casey Guthier, who serves as the band’s drummer. The brothers, both from the Baltimore, Maryland area, are turning a lifelong connection to music into a creative project they hope will resonate with listeners everywhere.

How it all started

The foundation for Sean’s musical journey was laid long before he picked up an instrument himself. His father was a talented guitarist who performed at numerous gigs throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, while his grandfather, originally from Puerto Rico, traveled as a drummer. Growing up surrounded by music naturally inspired Sean to explore his own musical path.

His first instrument was the clarinet, a choice inspired by the popular cartoon character Squidward from SpongeBob SquarePants. What began as a childhood interest eventually evolved into a passion for creating music. Around the age of 19, Sean transitioned to electric guitar, opening the door to songwriting and performance.

trials and tribulations

Despite his passion, Sean admits that one of his greatest challenges was simply believing he was capable of making music. Learning guitar came with plenty of ups and downs, and the journey was often a roller coaster. However, through persistence and dedication, he continued developing his skills and found himself enjoying the process more with each passing day.

As a newcomer to the music industry, Sean doesn’t point to major accomplishments or influences just yet. Instead, he focuses on creating music to the best of his ability and continuing to grow as an artist. His goal is simple: write better songs, make more music, and keep improving.

Recently, Two Years Younger released their very first song, marking a significant milestone for the band. For Sean and Casey, the release represents countless hours of creativity, practice, and dedication. More than anything, Sean hopes people will take the opportunity to listen and enjoy the song as much as the brothers enjoyed creating it.

What’s next

Looking toward the future, Sean’s ambitions remain grounded but optimistic. His immediate goal is to share the music with as many listeners as possible and continue building an audience. While he hopes to eventually produce a full-length album, he understands that growth takes time and is focused on taking the journey one step at a time.

With their debut release now available, Two Years Younger is just getting started. Driven by family, passion, and a genuine love for music, Sean and Casey Guthier are beginning a promising new chapter and inviting listeners to join them along the way.
