BP The Gassguy: Built For Error — A New Era for Louisville’s Versatile Storyteller

Straight out of Louisville, Kentucky, BP The Gassguy is an artist who embodies growth, authenticity, and perseverance. His upcoming EP, Built For Error, marks a powerful new chapter in his journey — one rooted in creativity, family, and self-understanding.

How it all started

BP’s relationship with music started early. “I started using music to express myself as a kid,” he shares. “I was writing raps and poems when I was around 10 years old.” That early passion grew through high school, where he joined the band and met DJ Gusto Goldleaf, the producer who would become his creative counterpart. Their bond started with a shared love of sound — and the same instrument: the Alto Saxophone.

Over time, that friendship turned into a musical brotherhood. Together with Bustdown Billy, another close collaborator with a decade of experience performing and producing, BP began shaping what would become Built For Error. “This project came from trying to create and maintain our personal lives,” he explains. “It’s about embracing the chaos and turning mistakes into lessons. All of our styles blend together really well — so it felt right to release this project together.”

the hard work and hustle of BP’s music career

BP’s story isn’t built on hype — it’s built on heart and hustle. His breakout track, “Fire Stick,” dropped in January 2020 and quickly became a life-changing moment. “That song reached over 15,000 streams across different platforms,” he recalls. “After I dropped that song, I actually started making money 😂.”

Behind the bars and beats, though, BP wears many hats. He’s not just an artist — he’s a full-time father and fiancé. “I live in a house full of girls,” he laughs. “It’s hard to stay sane sometimes, but I’m happy to say I think I’ve found a good balance between my family life and music.” That duality — the chaos and the calm — runs through his work and gives his sound a real-world depth that resonates with everyday listeners.

What his music means to him

These days, BP’s goals are less about fame and more about fulfillment. “My dreams as far as music go are actually pretty calm,” he says. “I just wanna keep making music that helps people get through the day. A few years ago, I might’ve answered that different, but now I’m just happy I didn’t give up.”

With Built For Error, BP The Gassguy is doing exactly that — staying true to himself while pushing forward creatively. Produced, engineered, and mastered by Bustdown Billy and DJ Gusto Goldleaf, the EP features four new tracks and serves as the first installment in a series of tapes set to drop throughout 2026.

“Built For Error is about growth,” BP sums up. “It’s about finding your way, even when you mess up. I just want people to know I’m human too — and that it’s okay to make mistakes as long as you keep building.”

BUILT FOR ERROR releases everywhere November 11, 2025 — a bold, self-made statement from one of Louisville’s most versatile rising voices.
