Br0wn Svm Returns With “dirty rotten soldier” Visual and Announces Upcoming Album Mocoso

LOS ANGELES — Experimental recording artist Br0wn Svm, also known as Brown Sam, has released the official music video for his 2025 single “dirty rotten soldier,” marking another milestone in a career that has consistently defied convention. Born Samuel Abraham Piland Chicchón I, the Bronx native has spent years building an expansive catalog while forging his own lane through independent music, film, and visual art.

Building an Expansive Discography

Since emerging as Br0wn Svm, the artist has released two singles, three EPs, and four full-length albums. His 2020 debut album, U R the Missing Peace, produced entirely by longtime collaborator woe thug, introduced listeners to a sound that would continue evolving across every subsequent release. In 2023, he expanded his artistic vision with the ambitious 77-track anthology Samuelito Samuelacho Samuelito Samuelon, a project that highlighted both his solo work and collaborations with fellow creatives.

Creative Collaborations and Continued Growth

Svm remained especially prolific throughout 2024, releasing the Cyborg GF-produced single “scratchin’ at the surface,” followed by two collaborative EPs: The Brown Tape (UnAuthorized Release) alongside The Reason—an alias of Hotline TNT drummer Mike Ralston—and STiMBO FLEX with Jimbo Flex, the recording alias of Corner Store Studios founder Abe Silver.

Expanding the Vision in 2025

His momentum continued into 2025 with brown stank by Brown Stank, released under the Brown Stank alias alongside longtime collaborator Mo Stank (Mostafa Zaghloul, founder of Temple Studio). Later that year, Svm released “dirty rotten soldier,” produced by Isaac Chords, a producer known for his work with Joji. The single appeared on his album Music Four My Dealer before he closed out the year with I Present 2 U… (U2!): The Bebe Rey (Official & DeluXXXe), a sequel to U R the Missing Peace that reunited him with producer woe thug.

Long before streaming platforms dominated music discovery, Br0wn Svm established himself during the influential blog era. He became one of the final artists featured on the now-defunct Cypher League website, was recognized by The Tab as a leader of Columbia University’s underground art movement, served as one of Ratrock Magazine’s founding featured artists, and even collected multiple rejections from Pigeons & Planes—a testament to his commitment to following his own creative vision rather than industry trends.

Away from music, Samuel has built a career in film and television production, an experience that continues to shape the visual identity of his releases. He describes Br0wn Svm’s music as “a post pop rap world music fusion experiment,” combining diverse influences into an unpredictable and highly personal artistic style.

Now, eleven years after releasing his first music video for “Wavey Voidz,” Br0wn Svm returns with the visual for “dirty rotten soldier.” Filmed on Los Angeles’ iconic Venice Beach, the video features Svm portraying the song’s title character in costume. The visual was shot by Cyborg GF and edited by Svm himself, showcasing the artist’s continued commitment to pairing music with distinctive cinematic storytelling.

Looking ahead

The release serves as the first step in a broader campaign celebrating both Svm’s past catalog and his future work. In the coming months, he plans to release additional music videos highlighting earlier projects while preparing for the arrival of his next full-length album, Mocoso. The forthcoming project will feature production from Isaac Chords, Friend of Nature, The Reason, and Cyborg GF, with several accompanying visuals planned as part of the rollout.

With more than a decade of artistic evolution behind him, Br0wn Svm continues to carve out a space entirely his own—blending music, film, and experimentation into a body of work that remains uncompromisingly original while pushing the boundaries of modern independent artistry.
