Where it all started
For over two decades, Ian devoted his life to raising his three children as a single father. Between working to support his family and paying child support with no financial help coming in, his lifelong love for music had to be put on hold. But the spark never faded — it just waited.
How music was instilled in his life
Music has always been in his blood. His father, a radio DJ, instilled in him an early love for sound, rhythm, and the emotional escape that music provides. For DJ E-TERNAL, music has been a companion through every high and low — a constant source of healing, hope, and inspiration.
“Whatever mood we’re in, there’s always a song to fall back on. If any of my songs can be that go-to for someone, that’s the greatest accomplishment I could ever achieve.”
Minor setback for a major comeback
After 25 years, DJ E-TERNAL made his return to the industry just two years ago — and he came back stronger than ever. In that short time, he’s released five full-length albums and over 100 singles, crossing genres from EDM to hip hop. His work ethic and versatility have helped him connect with new artists and expand his creative reach into fresh musical territory.
Trials and tribulations
But behind the beats and energy lies an even deeper story. Now 50 years old, DJ E-TERNAL faces serious health challenges, including stage 2 heart failure, stage 2 kidney disease, and other complications that have slowed his body — but not his drive. Despite being unable to work and awaiting disability, he continues to create with purpose, leaving behind not just a musical legacy, but a message for his children and listeners everywhere.
“I might only have seven years left, but that just gives me more incentive to do as much as I can. My hope is to leave something behind for my kids — not just financially, but spiritually. To show them it’s never too late to chase your dreams.”
What’s next
With upcoming projects like his new hip hop album “The 2 Faces of DJ E-TERNAL” — blending gorerap energy with deeply personal storytelling — and his fifth EDM album “The Matrix,” a sonic journey through electronic landscapes, DJ E-TERNAL continues to prove that passion has no expiration date.
His dream? To perform on the grand stages of EDC Las Vegas or Futureland, sharing his sound and spirit with the world.
