Born Dontaé Jareel Pelzer in Mount Vernon, New York, Dontáe’s Peak spent time in the Bronx before ultimately finding his home in Poughkeepsie. Those experiences have helped shape his perspective as both an artist and entrepreneur, influencing a creative vision rooted in perseverance and long-term growth.
“I believe success isn’t built in the spotlight—it’s built long before anyone is watching,” says Dontáe’s Peak. “That’s the story behind everything I create.”
That philosophy serves as the foundation for his music, which blends cinematic storytelling with introspective lyricism to explore themes of resilience, pressure, discipline, and purpose. Beyond publishing, Dontáe’s Peak has collaborated with acclaimed producers and artists including Bizness Boi, Wondagurl, Adé, Rockie Fresh, Dizzy Banko, MorrisMadeit, and Wifisfuneral, while performing at respected venues such as The Apollo, Blackthorn 51, Amityville Music Hall, and McDonald’s Gospel Fest.
