From D.C. to Harvard: DBA.da.One Is Turning Dedication Into Sound
Emerging from the creative crossroads of Washington D.C. and Massachusetts, Dallas Briggs-Adams, better known by his artist name DBA.da.One, is proving that talent and persistence can coexist with hustle. Now based in Massachusetts and balancing life as both a rapper and songwriter, DBA.da.One has been carving out a name for himself with an unwavering focus on lyricism, melody, and growth.
Accomplishments in A short time
Though he’s only been making music for about a year and a half, DBA’s catalog already shows notable promise. His work on standout tracks like “Dusse Sippin,” “LBAC (Lay Back And Chill)” by Kee Valid, and “Here We Go Again” by Connecticut People Records has earned him recognition as a versatile and dedicated artist who refuses to take shortcuts in his craft.
Trials and tribulations
But the path hasn’t been easy. As an independent artist, DBA.da.One faces the constant challenge of balancing a full-time job, music creation, and the realities of everyday life. “My main challenges have been balancing work and music—event management messed with my time and money, and I’m still working on getting that back,” he shares. “But I keep my head down, grind, and believe in myself and my work. I work full time, find time to write, make my own promo videos, and hit the studio after hours. Lately, I’ve been pushing myself to make at least a song or video a day.”
How his discipline makes him different in the music industry!
This kind of discipline is what sets DBA.da.One apart. His artistic approach blends raw emotion and refined technique, rooted in a deep respect for hip-hop’s lyrical foundations. As a self-proclaimed student of the culture, he constantly studies and experiments with new sounds, delivery styles, and ways to connect with his listeners.
What’s next
Looking ahead, DBA sees his future as part of a larger movement. “In a couple years, I can see myself working with a team of artists and others in the industry—improving musically and on the business side of things,” he says. “Right now, I’m just focused on balancing my work, my music, and my personal growth.”
With his latest single “Still Not a Player” now out and a new project on the horizon, DBA.da.One is gearing up for a breakout run. Each release is a reminder that dedication, creativity, and consistency can still make real noise in today’s music scene.
Stay tuned—DBA.da.One is just getting started.
