Ms. Rax: A Woman of Substance Turning Pain Into Purpose
From the heart of Memphis, Tennessee, emerges an artist whose story is as powerful as her voice — Ms. Rax, the CEO and creative force behind Woman of Substance Entertainment. More than just an independent artist, Ms. Rax embodies resilience, faith, and perseverance — the living definition of a woman who refused to give up, even when life tried to break her.
how god gave her hope to keep striving
For over 11 years, Ms. Rax has been chasing her dream of making music while simultaneously achieving academic excellence — earning a Master’s Degree from Tennessee State University and Strayer University. But before writing her newest song, she admits she came close to walking away from it all. “I almost gave up due to adversity, corporate struggles, and feeling like I did it all for nothing,” she says. “But God was with me all along. My story will help millions because through my faith, I’m still here — a walking miracle.”
Accomplishments
Her faith-filled journey has already opened incredible doors. Ms. Rax has graced red carpets, met many of her idols, and even appeared as a contestant in a bootcamp on we tv — a music artist boot camp hosted by Da Brat and Deb Atney. She’s also made her mark on screen as an extra in “Creed 3” and the TV show STAR. Beyond entertainment, she’s served as a teacher, volleyball coach at North Atlanta High, and has been featured in Memphis and Atlanta Voyager Magazine — all while relentlessly pursuing her purpose.
Trials and tribulations
Still, her journey hasn’t come without heartbreak. Over the past seven years, Ms. Rax endured devastating loss — both parents, her child, and a serious car accident that left her with a broken hand. “I asked God, why me? And He said, why not you?” she recalls. “I stopped making excuses and fought to live.” With prayer, therapy, and determination, she emerged stronger — even shedding 120 pounds through her healing journey.
What’s next
Her latest single, “GloriaDaughter,” is a deeply personal tribute to her late mother but the message is about herself being at the core!
Looking ahead, Ms. Rax sees her mission clearly: to continue impacting lives through authenticity, faith, and storytelling. Through her brand Woman of Substance ENT, she aims to connect with audiences who have endured their own storms — those who understand that with God, even pain has purpose.
“My song and my story are for anyone who’s ever felt alone,” she says. “If you’ve ever been through the fire but kept going, that’s who this is for. God never left our side — not once.”
