YellaCity iandiJah’s introduction to music began in a simple but meaningful way: rapping alone in his room as a teenager. Inspired by legendary artists including Tupac, OutKast, and Scarface, he began developing his own relationship with Hip Hop and using music as an outlet for self-expression.

At 17 years old, YellaCity iandiJah discovered the music and culture surrounding DJ Screw. The slowed-down sound immediately resonated with him, eventually becoming a major influence on his musical identity.

What began as an introduction to a different sound eventually became a lasting part of who he was as an artist. His accomplishments have extended beyond performances as well. YellaCity iandiJah was nominated for Best Album at the Oklahoma City Hip Hop Awards and ultimately took home the award for Best Dressed Artist in OKC, adding another milestone to his career.
Surviving the Streets and Finding Another Side of Life
One of the defining elements of YellaCity iandiJah’s story is survival.
Growing up in Oklahoma City, he witnessed the consequences of street life firsthand. Many of the people he once knew are either incarcerated or no longer alive, making his own journey a testament to perseverance.
For him, escaping that environment was never as simple as just walking away. He explains that there is a strong crime element within the environment that can be difficult to separate yourself from, particularly when credibility and acceptance can be connected to having actually experienced the lifestyle being discussed in the music.

After eventually moving to Florida, YellaCity iandiJah discovered a deeper spiritual side of himself through Rastafari and his relationship with God. That spiritual growth has given him another perspective on his life and the experiences that brought him to where he is today.
Rather than pretending his past never happened, he embraces the complexity of his journey. There is still a strong connection to the street culture that shaped him, but there is also a growing spiritual awareness that continues to influence how he sees the world.
“Screwhead Til I’m Dead” on the Horizon
YellaCity iandiJah is currently working on his next album, “Screwhead Til I’m Dead.” The project is being mixed and mastered by DJ Wr3ck, further emphasizing the importance of the Screw sound within his artistic identity.
The total number of tracks and official release date have yet to be determined, but the project represents another chapter in an already extensive musical catalog.
