Founded by Justin Hanson, formerly known for his work with 3TEETH and alongside Paul D’Amour in Lesser Key, LVX bridges the worlds of progressive rock, industrial grit, and immersive electronic ambience. Originally formed in Los Angeles before Hanson relocated back to St. Louis in 2020 following the COVID era, the project reflects both the collapse of old industry systems and the emergence of something entirely new.
“People should pay attention because this is not just another side project,” Hanson explains. “We’re building something sonically different — a hybrid of traditional progressive rock, electronic atmosphere, and industrial textures that creates an experience designed to transform the listener.”
Surviving Tragedy and Finding Purpose
That transformation is not just artistic — it is deeply personal. In 2022, Hanson survived a near-fatal car accident that left him rebuilding much of his body and forced him into an intense spiritual and emotional awakening. The experience became a turning point that reshaped not only his life, but also his role as an artist.
“After the accident, I realized I needed to step forward as a lead singer instead of staying behind the drums,” Hanson says. “It changed everything about how I approached creativity and expression.”
That rebirth now fuels LVX’s identity. Hanson personally assembled a lineup featuring Garrett Smith, Adrian Brown, William Smith, and Paul D’Amour, carefully selecting musicians capable of bringing his vision to life with precision and emotional depth. While the members each bring their own histories and influences, Hanson makes it clear that LVX is ultimately his artistic statement — one driven by discipline, experimentation, and total dedication to craft.
The band has already released two striking singles, Writhe and Hexer, each accompanied by visually ambitious music videos created with directors including Astrid Gnosis and Mysticult. The visuals push beyond conventional music video aesthetics, embracing surreal imagery and immersive storytelling that mirror the layered emotional weight of the music itself.
Unlike many artists resisting emerging technologies, LVX openly embraces the use of AI-assisted creative tools as part of its artistic process. Hanson believes technology can enhance atmosphere and deepen immersion rather than diminish authenticity.
“We’re not part of the anti-AI movement,” he says. “We want to use technology to create surreal worlds and emotional environments that pull listeners deeper into the experience.”
The Rise of evildœr
The band is preparing to release a third single titled Supplicant, followed by the announcement of their upcoming six-song EP, evildœr. The project promises to further expand the sonic universe LVX is creating — one that aims to carve out an entirely new niche within alternative music.
With cinematic ambition and emotionally charged compositions, LVX already feels positioned for larger stages beyond traditional music spaces. Hanson envisions the band’s music finding homes in film, television, and video games while continuing to grow through touring and future releases.
“I see full industry support behind this,” Hanson says. “It’s authentic, exciting, and new. We’re building something with purpose.”
