One Lovers Enters a New Creative Chapter with God Talks With Arjuna

For nearly a decade, One Lovers—the artist project of Arjun Dhar—has existed at the intersection of music, writing, and self-discovery. Now, with the upcoming release of his sixth digital LP, God Talks With Arjuna, arriving July 10, 2026, the New York-based recording artist, rapper, songwriter, and audio engineer is stepping into what he describes as a new creative chapter.

Dhar’s approach to music

Rooted in experimental and alternative hip-hop while drawing influence from poetry, jazz, soul, and abstract storytelling, One Lovers has always resisted easy categorization. Rather than following trends or chasing commercial formulas, Dhar approaches music as a vehicle for reflection, memory, spirituality, and personal truth.

“I see myself as an artist and writer first,” he says. “Music became the clearest language I had for expressing things I didn’t know how to say otherwise.”

That perspective has shaped a body of work built on introspection and artistic independence. Over the years, Dhar has steadily developed his own sound through multiple independent releases while simultaneously working as an audio engineer and cultivating a parallel career in writing. His poetry has appeared in literary magazines, an accomplishment that continues to influence the lyrical depth and narrative approach found throughout his music.

The upcoming album, God Talks With Arjuna, represents the culmination of years of artistic growth and self-examination. Consisting of ten tracks and featuring a guest appearance from penelope*, the project explores themes of spirituality, reflection, identity, and the process of returning to oneself through art.

Trials and tribulations

For Dhar, the album’s creation also marked a turning point in overcoming some of the challenges that independent artists frequently face. Like many creatives, he has wrestled with doubt, inconsistency, and the pressure to make music that fits more comfortably within market expectations. Instead of compromising his vision, he chose to trust his instincts and focus on creating the most honest work possible.

“Working on this album reminded me why I started creating in the first place,” he explains. “I stopped trying to force the music to be something it wasn’t and treated it as a real body of work rather than just a collection of songs.”

That commitment to authenticity is central to what makes One Lovers stand out. The project blends abstract rap, experimental production, poetic lyricism, and emotionally direct storytelling into something that feels deeply personal yet universally relatable. Each release serves not only as music but as a document of growth, reflection, and artistic exploration.

What’s next

Looking ahead, Dhar envisions One Lovers expanding beyond music into a larger creative universe that includes writing, visual storytelling, and interdisciplinary artistic expression. While he hopes to reach a wider audience, collaborate with like-minded artists, and perform more frequently, maintaining the integrity of his work remains a priority.

His long-term goal is simple but ambitious: to create art that lasts.

“I want to be recognized as an artist with a distinct voice,” he says. “I want to create projects that people can return to years later and still find something new in.”

With God Talks With Arjuna, One Lovers appears poised to do exactly that. More than just another release, the album stands as a reflection of an artist becoming increasingly confident in his vision, embracing vulnerability, and allowing personal truth to guide the work. As July 10 approaches, listeners will have the opportunity to experience what may be the most complete and fully realized statement of his career so far.

The album’s release marks not only the arrival of a new project but the beginning of a new era for One Lovers—one defined by artistic clarity, creative independence, and a deeper commitment to telling stories that resonate long after the music ends.
