ZITTO: Turning Pain Into Purpose Through Music

At just 16 years old, Massachusetts artist ZITTO is already building a name for himself through honesty, emotion, and storytelling that cuts deeper than surface-level rap. Coming out of the Cambridge/Boston area, the rapper and songwriter is using music as more than entertainment — it’s therapy, testimony, and a voice for kids who grew up carrying pain they never asked for.

How it all started

ZITTO’s story began long before the studio sessions and performances. At the age of 2, he entered DCF foster care after his birth parents struggled with substance abuse and addiction. His father later served time while attempting to regain custody. During those early years of instability, music became one of the few things that brought peace and comfort.

After being adopted into Cambridge, Massachusetts at age 5, ZITTO attended Fletcher Maynard Academy, where he struggled emotionally while learning how to process trauma at a young age. Everything started changing when he discovered that one of his teachers, Elon Fyfield — known musically as Lizzle4 — made rap music himself. Seeing how much music helped calm him down, the teacher encouraged him through small goals and rewards, even allowing him to attend performances and get on stage.

That experience planted the seed for what would become his purpose.

“I started making music to help people the same way music helped me,” ZITTO explains.

By 14, he released his first studio album, ECLIPSE, a deeply personal project focused on the emotions and struggles he experienced growing up. He later followed it with several singles and the EP Lies, which explored themes of love, heartbreak, and trust.

what’s next to come!

Now, ZITTO is preparing for his biggest release yet: LOOK CLOSER., an 18-track album dropping June 6th. The project features collaborations with artists including Luh Kel, Seezyn, Multiszn, Yung Luv, and 2SLD. According to ZITTO, the album dives deeper into his life, emotions, and personal experiences while continuing his mission of helping others feel understood.

Despite his age, the young artist has already built impressive momentum:

  • Over 40,000 total streams across platforms
  • 2nd Place at the Concert Craves Artist Showcase at The Palladium
  • Performed with VO Boston Collective in Jamaica Plain
  • Performed at Cambridge Community Television
  • Performed at Reunion BBQ in Boston
  • Collaborated with multiple rising artists across the industry

For ZITTO, success is about more than numbers or fame. His long-term goal is to create a life through music where he can support the people around him while inspiring kids dealing with trauma, instability, or loneliness.

“I got lucky,” he says. “Some people don’t. I want people to know coping isn’t impossible.”

With years of experience already behind him and a growing audience connecting to his message, ZITTO represents a new generation of artists who lead with vulnerability instead of image. And with LOOK CLOSER. on the way, he’s inviting listeners to do exactly what the title says — look deeper.
